Martha Roby Dominates 2nd District Straw Poll

(MONTGOMERY, AL) – Martha Roby, Republican candidate for Alabama’s Second Congressional District, took home a victory last night, with a resounding win in a key Republican primary straw poll. Roby bested her opponents by more than a 3-to-1 margin, earning 63% of the vote.

The Morris and Montiel Viewpoint radio talk show hosted the Meet and Greet and Straw Poll event on Wednesday evening at the Eastside Grille in Montgomery. The straw poll is the first that has been conducted in the Second Congressional District race.
 
“This straw poll shows that our campaign has the momentum we need to carry us to victory in June and November,” said Roby.  “Our message of conservative values and common sense solutions is resonating with voters, and we are energized by this overwhelming vote of confidence.  Voters know that our conservative values are not being represented in Washington, and they are ready to send a true conservative who will fight for our values.”

“This victory also shows the strength of our organization,” said Roby. “To win an election you need to turn your supporters out to the polls. We did just that last night, and we’ll do the same on June 1st.”
 
The final vote percentages were 63.3% for Martha Roby, 20.3% for Rick Barber, 15.2% for Stephanie Bell, and 1.2% for John Bowling McKinney III.
