Martha Roby Emerges as Clear Winner in Radio Debate

(MONTGOMERY, AL) – This morning, the two Republican candidates for Congress in Alabama’s Second District participated in a radio debate hosted by Dan Morris and Mark Montiel on Newstalk 107.9 in Montgomery.  Martha Roby was the clear winner this morning, displaying a confident handle on the issues and highlighting her conservative record.

“We need to fix Washington,” Roby said.  “President Obama and Nancy Pelosi are leading this country down a dangerous path of wasteful spending, borrowing against our future, and rapid expansion of government into our lives. This simply must stop.”

“I have a record of fighting for the people I represent and finding solutions,” said Roby. “It’s important we send someone to Washington that we can trust. I stand by my conservative record and promise that I will fight for conservative values every day.”

“This morning Martha Roby once again proved that she is candidate best prepared to represent us in Congress,” said Mike Hamilton, Roby’s campaign manager.  “She has a proven record that she can stand on. She has shown real leadership. She’s the only candidate in the race that can say that.”

“Additionally, Martha has continued to keep her campaign about her positive vision for the future,” said Hamilton. “We are staying focused on the issues and what’s important in this race.”

Both candidates answered questions asked by the hosts and callers to the show ranging from energy policy to the role of faith in their personal life.
