Martha Roby Lays Out Conservative Vision at Prattville Debate

(MONTGOMERY, AL) – Thursday evening, the four Republican candidates for Congress in Alabama’s Second District participated in a debate in Prattville.  By all accounts, Martha Roby presented a clear and concise vision for America’s future and highlighted her conservative record.

“There are many things that we all agree on,” Roby said.  “We agree that spending is out of control, and we all oppose tax increases.  However, I am the only candidate in this race who has actually had to vote against a tax increase or fight to reduce spending.  I believe this experience sets me apart in this race, and I believe my strong record will make me an effective member of Congress.”

“Tonight Martha Roby proved herself to be the best-prepared candidate to go and fight for us in Washington,” said Mike Hamilton, Roby’s campaign manager.  “Our conservative message of fiscal discipline, job creation, and limited government is clearly resonating with voters in the 2nd district. She is the only candidate with a broad, proven conservative record, and she has shown that she is ready to lead and fight for our values.”

The debate was sponsored by the Elmore County Republican Club, the Autauga County Republicans, River Region Smart Girl Politics, Prattville Big Stick Patriots, and the Montgomery Tea Party and was held at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Prattville.

Following their opening remarks, each candidate answered questions on the topics of foreign, military, social, and economic policy.
