Martha Roby Presents a Clear, Conservative Message in Radio Debate

(MONTGOMERY, AL) – This morning, three of the Republican candidates for Congress in Alabama’s Second District participated in a radio debate hosted by Dan Morris and Mark Montiel on Newstalk 107.9 in Montgomery.  Martha Roby led the way by highlighting her record and her clear vision for conservative change in Washington.

“Washington is broken,” Roby said.  “All of us agree that the liberal leadership in Washington has us on the wrong track and we need to change.  I am the only candidate in this race who has actually had to vote on a budget, fight tax increases, and cut wasteful spending. I’ve been on the front lines fighting illegal immigration. My proven conservative record on the City Council sets me apart from my opponents and my experience will allow me to go to Washington and fight from day one.”

“This morning Martha Roby proved that she is candidate best prepared to represent us in Congress,” said Mike Hamilton, Roby’s campaign manager.  “She is the only candidate with a broad, proven conservative record, who has had to deal with out of control spending and balancing a budget. We need that type of leadership in Washington.”

Following their opening remarks, each candidate answered questions asked by the hosts and callers to the show.
