(MONTGOMERY, AL) – Republican 2nd District Congressional candidate Martha Roby revealed that her campaign raised $125,645 in just 43 days since announcing her candidacy on May 19th.   Roby made the disclosure today when filing her first fundraising report with the Federal Election Commission, which also showed she had $125,311 remaining cash-on-hand.

Roby is the only Republican candidate in the race.

“I am honored and excited by the strong, early support I have received from the people throughout Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District,” said Roby.  “When we announced our campaign on May 19th, my goal was to raise $100,000 by June 30th.  We not only met, but exceeded our goal.  Our fundraising success is a testament to the desire for fundamental leadership change for Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District.”

The two-term Montgomery City Councilwoman’s fundraising results are impressive in that the majority of contributions came from supporters in Alabama.  Roby was able to raise these funds in a little over five weeks.
