The right to bear arms is enshrined in the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, yet this right is under constant attack throughout our nation. I know there is a better way than enacting new gun control laws and believe the U.S. Justice Department should enforce the laws already on the books. Emphasis needs to be placed on keeping guns out of the hands of criminals and severely increasing the punishment for anyone convicted of committing a crime with the use of a gun. Sportsmen, hunters, gun enthusiasts and citizens concerned for their personal safety should know that I will always defend their right to keep and bear arms.
